Single-Dwelling Residential
SR, Single-Dwelling zoning districts SR-3 intended to preserve land for housing and to provide housing opportunities for individual households. The regulations are intended to create maintain and promote single-dwelling neighborhoods. The Single-Dwelling districts allow some other types of uses but not to the extent of sacrificing the overall image and character of Single-Dwelling neighborhoods. The regulations accommodate a variety of single-dwelling housing styles and residential densities. The dimensional standards allow for flexibility of development while maintaining compatibility within the Citys various neighborhoods. In addition the regulations provide certainty to property owners developers and neighbors about the limits of what is allowed. SR-3 zoning districts are intended to create maintain and promote larger estate-style neighborhoods which may have sufficient lot sizes to allow as an accessory use the keeping of horses or by conditional use other animals. Where lot sizes are such that the keeping of horses or other animals may be permitted as an accessory use approval of such zoning map amendment shall only be considered when the proposed district is a minimum of 20 acres and when there are permanent arrangements in place where such horses may be lawfully ridden or used such as nearby public lands parks or publicly dedicated lands or common areas set aside within the district.
