There are a lot of historic properties in the SW Hills but some of that history gets lost with each new owner. I'm glad this home didn't! The listing broker was kind enough to put little information stations throughout the home explaining it's...
historic significance. For instance: The home was built by Captain George Flanders, one of the founding fathers of the city and he built the home for his two daughters. A lot of the wood installed in the home was brought over on his ship before he sailed to Portland. The front door is one of those treasures. It was made in France in the 1800's. Also, the backsplash in the kitchen and tile work on the master bathroom counter was created by a locally known artist in the 1930s. Even without the historic significance of the home, it's a must see. There is lots of natural light, high vaulted ceilings in the attic and a big, mostly flat yard. Above the garage, there is also a fully built out office space with bathroom and sink. The garage is also accessed through another street so there is enough parking in front of the home and is conveniently located on a dead end street. It's always great to see a historic home surviving through each new owner.

Hidden Treasure tucked away on this quiet street. Meticulous in its design and preservation of character yet warm and inviting for the modern lifestyle. Green Gable complete restoration with no detail overlooked. Spectacular sunny lot with Japanese tea house, Hansel and Gretel tree house, gardens and meandering paths. Captivating guest carriage house with an "unplugged" ambiance. Period Perfect Brilliance.
