Step into the charm and history of this beautifully maintained 1800s Chester County farmhouse, originally built in 1820 and located in the historic Corner Ketch community in East Brandywine Township, Downingtown. Blending historic charm with thoughtful updates, the home features a substantial 1970s addition and a 2010 renovation that introduced a first-floor primary bedroom with a private ensuite Bath. Period details are found throughout, including original wide-plank hardwood floors, exposed wood beams, deep windowsills, a large walk in stone fireplace, and a hidden “Betsy Ross” staircase leading to the second floor. The upper level offers three bedrooms, a full bathroom, an office with skylights and a beautiful exposed field stone wall , and access to a private outdoor deck. Modern improvements include newer windows (2010-2019), central air & HVAC (2024), water heater (10/25) & new roof (10/25) - providing comfort and peace of mind. Outside, a charming covered front porch invites you to relax and take in the scenery, with mature gardens and a flat, sprawling yard extending across the one acre property. An oversized two-car garage and plenty of off-street parking complete this idyllic country side setting. Don't miss the opportunity to make this truly authentic piece of Chester County history your home!

R-2
Residential District
The R-2 Residential District is intended to enable the development of stable, well-designed residential neighborhoods with single-family detached dwellings. Allowable densities are considered appropriate to assure compatibility with the existing pattern of development, the limitations on sewage facilities and water supply, and the limited capacity of the road network. Residential densities, dwelling types, policies regarding sewage facilities, and policies limiting the use of central water supply are established in this district as means to achieve this objective and as appropriate components of the overall pattern of land use that is provided throughout the Township; they are intended to provide for orderly growth and utilization of natural resources in accordance with the Township Comprehensive Plan. Clustering of single-family dwellings is offered and encouraged as a site design mechanism to further the resource conservation objective. A portion of the R-2 Residential District adjoining the TND-1 Traditional Neighborhood Development District is provided with the option to utilize the terms of the TND-2 Overlay District regulations contained in Section 399-30B of this chapter.
