Agriculture Preservation District
The purposes of the Agriculture Preservation District are: To strengthen and preserve strong agricultural activity in locations where farming has been and is a viable component of the local economy.; To protect and stabilize agriculture as an on-going economic activity by generally permitting only these land uses and activities which are either agricultural in nature or act in direct support of agriculture.; To protect and stabilize the essential characteristics of these areas, to minimize conflicting land uses detrimental to agriculture use, to limit development which requires roadways and other public facilities greater than those required by agricultural uses and to maintain large contiguous tracts of agricultural lands.; To separate agricultural land uses and activities form incompatible residential, commercial, and industrial development, and public facilities.; To more fully comply with the concept set forth in the Comprehensive Plan of Windsor Township. The subsections below seek to achieve protection of land for agricultural purposes as authorized under Pennsylvania law, to specifically include the provisions of the Municipalities Planning Code.
