In the much sought after Jericho Valley area of Upper Makefield, this stately Ferman Lex-built stone and cedar manor style home enjoys a prime location, with 4+ sweeping acres and wonderful views of the Jericho Mountains. With 5 bedrooms, 4.3 baths, and a flexible floor plan finished on 4 levels, this handsome home can accommodate intimate groups or large crowds, with room for everyone. True to form for a solidly built Lex home, extensive wood raised panel wainscotting and millwork, rich hardwood floors, 9 ft. ceilings, transoms, and quality are evident throughout. The center entrance hall with turned staircase is flanked by a formal living room with gas fireplace & handsome built-ins, and a banquet-sized dining room with triple window to one side. On the other, a privately situated den/home office, finished with cherry built-ins, is tucked away and affords privacy. The expansive light-filled kitchen with two islands flows seamlessly into the open breakfast room, family room with stone fireplace, solarium, and sitting room, all basking in southeast sun for much of the day. The cook’s kitchen is finished with custom light cherry cabinetry, granite counters, and Miele, Subzero and Viking appliances, along with a wine refrigerator, pantry and built-in desk. Glass sliding doors and windows galore showcase the outdoor patios and fenced yard to the rear from the entire light-filled space. A newer expansive great room with vaulted ceiling, bar, flat screen TV, and a free-standing gas fireplace is the place to be for playing pool, watching sports and movies, or simply hanging out. Two powder rooms, and a spacious walk-through laundry room with built-ins and tile flooring, complete the first floor. On the 2nd floor, the Main Bedroom boasts rich cherry wood flooring, a large walk-in closet room with 2 windows, and spacious main bath with jetted tub and shower. There are 3 en-suite spare bedrooms, one a two-room guest suite, ideal for in-laws or an au pair, including a kitchenette, separate staircase, and balcony overlooking the great room. The guest suite can easily be isolated from the other 2nd floor areas, if desired. A finished, carpeted 3rd floor is a great bonus area with two large rooms, one presently being used as a spare bedroom, and the other a study or media room- a mecca for older kids and their friends! The lower level can be a wonderful respite, or a playroom for children, offering a cozy gathering area with carpeting and a fireplace. There is a wine bar, spacious home gym, and unfinished storage and utility areas. An interior staircase from the lower level up to the attached oversized 3-car garage adds a level of convenience for access and storage. To the rear, there are paver and flagstone patios and terraces, stone retaining walls, and a macadam path that makes bike riding and skating safe and easy. There is also a detached screened porch, great for seasonal entertaining! The huge, level rear yard, which backs to a neighbor’s meandering stream, enjoys perfect sun orientation and there is plenty of room for a pool! And, the bonus of being on “the loop”, a four-road, 3+ mile square for walking and biking, which is just outside your door! Extras include professional landscaping, zoned HVAC, central vac, a newer roof and windows, closets with solid wood shelving, a propane fired back-up generator and Council Rock Schools. Location and quality make this home and property truly a rare find!
