As one enters the front door the wood floors immediately catch your eye!!! with the beautiful staircase and newel post on the left. The living /family room is on the right with the typical bay window, for this era, facing the front porch, and, also, popular during at this time, is the corner fireplace. French doors lead to the formal dinning room with a bay window, built-in seats, decorative window glass, and storage. Where do we go next? To the left is the similar room with another bay window, seats and storage. With built-in shelves and cabinets, this was used as the owner's office but could easily be the downstairs bedroom with full bath and a small closet. Headed back through the dining room and to the left is the updated kitchen with tile floors, granite counter tops, and all glass top cabinet doors. The small laundry room is just where it should be, at the back door leading to the detached garage with a huge workshop and separate storage shed. Now back to the foyer and we head upstairs. At the first landing we face 2 magnificent, small, decorative paned windows that are 117 years old. WOW! The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath. All are bright and sunny with small closets. These bedrooms can also be accessed by a back staircase next to the kitchen. Now we go out the front door to the porch with finished pine floor. The yard is completely fenced and landscaped to be maintenance free. The back garden is a copy of one found in Savannah. From here the garage, shed and back door can be accessed. Historic Georgetown, hidden by busy HWY 17 between Charleston and Myrtle Beach, has just been discovered by travelers in the last few years. Georgetown was established as a colonial seaport in the early 1700s. The area has homes that were built as early as 1737 to new construction. New construction is restricted due to limited residential lots which keeps Georgetown village like. The history is the greatest natural resource and renews itself over and over. The small town has a feeling of earlier times and residents are able to walk or golf cart to restaurants, boutiques, museums, churches, and parks. There are 5 marinas which can accommodate boats of all sizes. Five rivers converge to form Winyah Bay offering fresh and saltwater fishing, skiing, sailing, and beauty unmatched. Come visit and stay.
