Remarks: Have you ever dreamed of living in a Grand European Estate? This is your opportunity. Welcome to “Evergreen”. Reminiscent of a French Country Manor house, you will be enchanted from the minute you drive through the iron gates. Meander down the driveway while taking in the perfectly detailed landscape and views of the award-winning Chanticleer Golf Course. The owners spent three years patiently working with architect Jack Thacker and Designer William Key to create a home that feels like it has been here for centuries. The French influence is evident in both exterior elevation and interior design. This estate was inspired by various chateaus the owners visited in Europe and only the best quality materials were used in construction. A few of these include the use of #1 grade lumber in all wood framing, plaster on interior walls and on decorative moldings, solid mahogany and poplar trim cut to specification in the foyer during construction and custom cabinetry by local craftsman Louie Inabinet. Upon entering the Mahogany front door, you’ll be greeted by Antique French elevator gates flanking the entry, imported Chinese slate floors, substantial brass hardware imported from France and a unique rounded skylight inset with a decorative wrought iron cover. The Formal Living Room is appointed with an antique chandelier, custom cast marble fireplace mantle, masonry fireplace with gas logs and custom book cases. The spacious Formal Dining Room features an antique chandelier restored from an Asheville Estate, padded, fabric covered walls and a fireplace with faux finished mantle by Greenville artist, Sarkis. The Kitchen is both beautiful and functional, designed with two Thermador wall ovens, warming drawers, a SubZero Refrigerator/Freezer and a Bosch dishwasher, and travertine tile adorns the floor and a tile backsplash, painted custom cabinetry and a cherry wood top on the island complete this French Country kitchen. Cherry was also included on the custom vent hood. An adjacent walk- in pantry and a kitchen office provide dedicated space for the kitchen essentials and household management. Additionally, an arched window above the sink opens to the Screened porch, the owner’s favorite spot, for easy servicing from the kitchen. The porch, with its limestone walls and floor, overlook the 17th tee of the golf course and is the perfect spot for morning coffee or enjoying an afternoon beverage. A light filled sunroom at the end of the foyer is another favorite spot to relax and view the grounds. This comfortable room also has a fireplace with a limestone mantel. The main level Master bedroom suite has oak flooring, a tray ceiling, and access to a walled, outdoor spa with fountain. The attached “ his and her” baths include, on one side, a doorless marble walk-in shower with a stained glass interior window , heated marble floors, water closet, mahogany cabinetry and a custom changing room-walk- in closet with an additional cedar closet inside and, on the opposite side is a free standing vintage Kohler tub with wooden base, marble vanity, an antique chandelier and a second spacious dressing room and closet. A private home office with built in shelves and mahogany walls and ceiling is also found on the main level. All four secondary bedrooms offer ample closets and “enSuite” baths with all cast iron porcelain tubs, and tile shower surrounds. Two recreation areas are found on the second level; a game room with a fully equipped wet bar and a bonus room with a private putting indoor putting green and driving range, custom designed by Osborn, including indoor nets, as used by professional golfers and access to a sauna. From the first and second floor entertainment areas, you can take the stairs or descend by elevator to the basement level where you will find a climate-controlled wine cellar with an iron gate, slate floor and capacity for over 1,800 bottles of wine.
