Imagine your own private farm, surrounded by mountains and bordering on Cherokee National Forest. This adorable cabin sits right next to a rushing stream and overlooks beautiful meadows and historic barns. You can hike for hours on the 81-acre parcel or catch your fish dinner in the private pond. Wildlife abounds. In the summer and fall you can pick apples and wild blackberries for wonderful home-made pies and jams. The cabin is completely furnished right down to towels and linens, games, a reading/CD/movie library, bird/hummingbird feeders, an outdoor fireplace where you can enjoy a romantic fire in the evening, and a back porch that just begs for a rocking chair and some bird watching. Located on Hwy 321 just 24 miles from downtown Boone and App State, you have the best of both worlds: the college scene and shopping, as well as the serenity of being in this quiet country paradise just a short drive away. Roan Mountain and Johnson City are nearby as well. The cabin has dish network and Century Link wi-fi internet. There is a TV and stereo system with outdoor & indoor speakers and a fax/copy machine. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the guest room has twin beds. There is a full bath, a half-bath, full laundry and a private outside shower. The cabin was built from trees cut and milled from our 81 acres and boasts of down-home country. There are many trails for hiking/ATV so you're sure to see some of the local wildlife: deer, groundhogs, turkey, black bears (very shy and seldom seen), fox, birds and butterflies. There are roads to access all parcels. We just built a National Barn (36 X 48) on the back parcel #6 with a power pole ready to hook up. There are 3 historic barns, outbuildings, a tack shed, and ATV port. The property is fenced and gated. Info in this listing may have been obtained from a 3rd party and/or tax record.
