William was a general practice doctor, an electrical engineer and World War II veteran serving in the European Theater, 1964- September, broke ground and footings poured for a new house, 1966- March, Framed House, September, Moved into the house with 4 children, Drafter - Jon Evans, Carpenter- Pop Barger, Masons- From the Union downtown, they were on strike and were wildcatting on this site, East Brainerd Road was a dirt road, There was no fire company nearby, therefore fire hydrants were installed in the house, Front Door and Porch Columns came from Wheeler Mansion in Chattanooga. Wheeler Mansion was located on the current site of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. 1968-1970 -Kay and Jack Arthur from Precept Ministries held Bible Studies in the house with up to 100 people, 1997- Pool was installed, 1954 House sketches were made on the back of Medical Tests based on The Wythe House in Williamsburg, Va., 1962 Land purchased by the Brackett's from John (Mutt) Carmichael, 1964 - September, broke ground and footings poured for a new house, 2004 - February, Dr. Brackett was killed in a car accident. Cissy continued to live here and care for the property. 2012 - August, Ron and Sharon Beaver purchased the property and began a restoration.
