Planned Unit Development District
The planned unit development district is established for the following purposes: To accommodate the development of planned units which do not conform in all respects with the land use pattern designated on the zoning map, the district regulations prescribed by the zoning ordinance, or the requirements of the subdivision ordinance.; To encourage the creative development of land, provide locations for well-planned comprehensive developments, and provide for variety in the development pattern of the City of Mission which conforms with the purpose of the master plan.; To protect against fire and explosions, pollution, and other environmental hazards; To promote housing densities appropriate to and compatible with existing and proposed public support facilities.; To protect, as far as possible, against congestion; and to provide for vehicular and pedestrian circulation.; To promote the most desirable uses of land and the direction of building development in accord with the master plan; To promote the stability of developments; to strengthen the economic base of the city; to protect the character of the district and adjacent districts; to conserve the value of land and buildings; and to protect the city's tax base; To promote the most efficient use of city facilities and services.
