Delaplane Cellars offers the opportunity to step into a varied and fulfilling lifestyle, be surrounded by profound natural beauty, and create fine artisan wines that are well appreciated by the wine-loving community. This stunning property and successful business is located in the heart of Virginia wine country within one hour of Washington, DC. Following the tradition of Virginia fine wine making as initiated by Thomas Jefferson, Delaplane Cellars creates exquisite single-vineyard wines that reflect the unique terroir of each of its vineyards. It is well-known for carefully crafting artisan wines made only from 100% Virginia vinifera varieties. Currently a family owned and operated vineyard and winery, Delaplane Cellars' ultra-premium wines are highly regarded by the industry and wine-lovers alike. This is a result of meticulously managed vineyards by growers who reach for ultimate quality, tried and true methods of traditional wine making and well-planned business strategies. Using only 100% Virginia vinifera varieties, its wine products embrace Virginia history and tradition and will help to shape Virginia's wine-making future. Delaplane Cellers is comprised of 32 scenic acres; approximately ten acres are vineyards. There are roughly 12,000 vines - 70% Bordeaux reds, 20% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Petit Manseng in five blocks on southwestern and western facing slopes. On the property is a large strikingly attractive building containing both the tasting rooms and production area. It was built in 2009 with three levels - two upper levels that are spacious, inviting and comfortably provide ample room for tasting and sales, and a lower level with the processing area. Customer seating is available inside as well as on the terrace where customers can enjoy a favorite bottle of wine while overlooking the vineyards, valleys, and miles of beautiful mountain range. With a blend of traditional and contemporary style, it is a favorite place for friends to meet. The winery has a loyal following, with a robust and growing wine club membership. A renovated five-bedroom home, built in 1987, is also on the property. The house has almost 5,000 square feet, a two-car garage, deck and swimming pool. Delaplane Cellars is located on Lost Mountain and overlooks the Rural Historic Crooked Run Valley. This is central to the Middleburg American Vitaculture Area (AVA).
