A quiet and scenic country road, in the heart of Virginia’s renowned “Hunt Country”, leads to Willow Downs, an absolutely beautiful property in a storybook setting. Stone pillars and a marvelous mahogany gate mark the entrance to the 18.4 gorgeous acres of verdant fields and lush woodlands. A long winding drive, over a picturesque stream, bordered by towering trees, leads to the stunning custom residence, built with extraordinary quality and craftsmanship. Beautifully designed and elegantly appointed, this charming four level, stucco home features high ceilings, rich cherry wood floors, fabulous windows and multiple French doors, bathing the rooms in natural sunlight. The floor plan is open and airy, creating a warm and inviting ambiance for entertaining family and friends, or just simply relaxing. Framed by mature wisteria, the exquisite mahogany front door opens to a grand foyer and entry hall. The library/study is conveniently located here on the main level, and to the rear are the very spacious living and dining rooms which enjoy fabulous panoramic views of the land. The gourmet country kitchen is truly a “Chef’s dream” boasting premium appliances (Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, Miele dishwasher, Viking 6 burner range with grill and griddle), and gleaming granite countertops. An expansive covered flagstone terrace graces the entire rear façade and captures wonderful views of the manicured grounds and brilliant perennial gardens. The second level features four fully appointed bedrooms, all with walk in closets and large windows that reflect the beauty of the surroundings. Two bedrooms share a spacious connected full bath with handcrafted tiles, while a third bedroom has a dedicated full bath. The Primary Suite is a private oasis with windows throughout, two walk in closets and a luxuriously appointed bath. The sizeable and open finished third level is ideal as a studio, exercise room, or family room. The potential possibilities are endless. The lower level, with its own separate entrance, is handsomely finished and enjoys a recreation room, family room, full bath, and an eating area. The simple addition of a small kitchen would make this an ideal guest/au pair suite. Peaceful and secluded, the property is perfect for a future pool or stable. Ideally located just minutes from the charming historic village of Middleburg, fine shops, wonderful restaurants, bucolic vineyards, sporting clubs and excellent schools are all nearby. Willow Downs is approximately 30 minutes to Washington Dulles International Airport, and is within easy access to the nation’s capital.
