The General Agriculture District is intended to allow an area to be devoted to agricultural use; to conserve, protect, and encourage the development, improvement and preservation of agricultural land for the production of food and other agricultural products; to retain major areas of natural ground cover for conservation purposes; and to retain forests; The principal purposes of this district may be accomplished by maintaining the existing agricultural lands and preventing the encroachment of incompatible land uses, while allowing development to occur at a reasonable density; Non-farm residents should recognize that in this district they are located in an agricultural environment where the right to farm and the right to practice forestry have been established as public policies; This district is also intended to minimize the demand for unanticipated public improvements and services, such as public sewer and water, by reducing development densities and discouraging large-scale development.
