In the early 1940s, pursuing a dream, a couple from the Midwest left their corporate jobs, bought a parcel of land in Barnard, Vermont and set about hand crafting a home designed after a Danish peasant cottage. The logs were harvested from their land and hauled to the building site by a local using a team of horses. The end result was a unique and magical log home on a mountain top looking out over the New Hampshire mountains. The property was purchased 16 years ago from the heirs of the original owner and has had all systems updated along with updates to the kitchen and bathroom, leaving much of the original magic intact. Words and pictures do not do the property justice, it needs to be seen and felt.
