3D Innovation Meets Home Tours: Introducing Redfin 3D Walkthrough

At Redfin, we are always looking for ways to make every part of buying or selling a home easier, faster and even more fun. Today, we’re accomplishing all three with the launch of Redfin 3D Walkthrough™. This online feature for Redfin-listed homes provides a high-resolution, interactive view from every angle inside a home and is powered by groundbreaking 3D scanning technology from Matterport. It is now available for Redfin listings in Seattle, including this home, and will roll out to other markets in the coming months.

Redfin 3D Walkthrough (think of it like Google Street View, but for inside the home) helps homebuyers better decide which homes to tour in person, and is another way that Redfin agents are helping their listing clients get even more attention for their homes to help sell them quickly.

When I first saw Matterport’s technology almost two years ago, it was a duct-taped prototype with a ton of potential. Today, it’s best in class. Matterport partnered closely with Redfin agents and our engineering team to deliver a cutting-edge experience that is unlike that of any other national real estate brokerage.

Seeing is believing, especially in real estate, and we designed Redfin 3D Walkthrough, powered by Matterport, to help you check out a home and find out quickly if you want to see it in person. With Redfin agents showing homes via Facetime or Skype and submitting offers electronically on behalf of clients in other cities, technology like this provides an added layer of convenience and information. Plus, this great technology and our amazing agent service help homes listed with Redfin sell an average of 10 days faster and for $5,100 more than comparable homes.
