Wall art always plays a critical role in the overall success of any well-designed room in my home. One of the best ways to create a “Wow” moment is to consider filing a drab wall or corner with a carefully curated gallery wall. A collection of 5-7 pieces of art, hung organically in a similar color palette mixing both old and new frames will make your wall sing. Need some help getting started? Play around with the art’s arrangement. There is no “one way” to arrange our wall decals. You’ve got a style all your own, so let it shine through. How you map out and plan your design may depend on the size of the decals you choose or the space in which you’re installing. Layer, space, and create the garden, bouquet, or pattern of your dreams. You have ultimate control and our wall decals give you ultimate flexibility. – Kristie Trenholme, Urbanwalls.Inc

Art should be the focal point of your wall. When choosing wall art as a focal point of the wall, make sure it does not get lost in your space. Consider filling up at least 50% of the wall, be it with a single statement piece or with several works, as well, always hang art at eye level. A lot of joy comes from being able to appreciate the artwork when you come home every day – so be sure to pick a piece that you can’t get enough of. – Liza Zhurkovskaya, Owner/Curator of Kefi Art Gallery

Consider your home to be an art gallery and the room/wall space of your home or business as an art exhibit inside your galley where your art piece is going to hang. Ask yourself if you want your wall art to be the focal point or blend in with a mosaic of other home décor items. Consider adding items like small plants, string lights, floating shelves, and family photos. And don’t forget to select your wall art in consideration with matching the colors of your furniture, it’s the seating of your home/art gallery. – Jordan Van Maanen, The Porch Swing Store

Find something you truly love. It really is that simple. Art should evoke a sincere reaction (and hopefully a positive one), so it’s incredibly important to ensure that whatever art you choose brings you feelings of happiness, calm, excitement or joy – if it doesn’t, it’s not the right piece for your wall. Art is also an opportunity for self-expression – you can look at your walls as a blank canvas and as a chance to showcase your personality in a fun way. Be sure to remember that it’s usually what we choose to surround ourselves with and hang on our walls that makes a space feel uniquely our own. – Brittany Russell, Owner and Artist at Letter Lane Design Studio

The living room is a place where you can let loose with your art, but as it’s a room that’s so heavily used, it’s important to get it right. Large-scale pieces tend to work best in the living room, with a good rule of thumb being that it should take up between two thirds and three quarters of the wall space. If in doubt, go bigger. You needn’t add just one piece to fill up the space. You can always create a gallery wall or get two or three pieces that work well together. – Kace Art

Consider the complexity of the entire room’s décor and all the elements featured in it. Modern home decors tend to be either very minimalistic and simple or very complex. Keep this in mind when choosing your new piece of art. Art could be a great tool to add or subtract complexity from the entire design of a room. For minimalistic designed rooms we would actually suggest a very complex and colorful work of art that will draw focus and will cause the minimalistic design to appear even more minimalistic. – Unleashed Gallery

Decide on the mood of the particular room. This will be based on two things: the use of the room and the décor aesthetic of the room. If you are looking for artwork for a bedroom for example, which is typically a calm and relaxing retreat, artwork with muted, subtle tones will really blend with the mood of the room. However, if you want to enhance a contemporary and vibrant lounge space, then colourful, bold, eye-catching artwork on the walls will fit the bill, creating a sense of balance with the bold décor. – Deborah Pendell, Deborah Pendell Fine Art

Think big when it comes to wall art. When creating that perfect space in your baby’s nursery, think big. Decorate the wall above her crib with her name written out in large letters with wall decals. Decals are a great medium to decorate with because they are removable for when you want to change things up again. – Ragan Shupe, Designed Beginnings

Don’t be afraid of color. Colorful prints of original art can provide uplifting, cheerful notes in neutral décor schemes as well as in those focused on color and texture. Try grouping prints in a variety of frames, cluster smaller prints around a larger central one, arrange them in neat rows or place them informally in an asymmetrical pattern. – Marilyn MacGregor, MacGregor Art

Choose art that will always be admired. The main point of hanging artwork on your walls is so it is seen and admired by anyone who walks into the room. That’s why we highly recommend wall art printed on modern Chromaluxe HD metal to add some “Wow” factor to your walls. We feel these metal prints beat traditional canvas prints hands down on quality. – Richard Byrne, C’est La Vie Prints
