A top-floor condo in the heart of Lincoln Park is bringing together two things Chicago buyers rarely find in one home: authentic industrial history and meticulous modern renovation.

Located at 958 W. Willow St. #4, the $999,900 three-bedroom, two-bathroom condo sits inside a former cookie factory originally built in 1890. It has since been converted into a four-unit condo building. Today, the 2,000-square-foot penthouse pairs soaring ceilings and oversized windows with thoughtful renovations that were completed less than two years ago.

The result is a home that feels distinctly rooted in Chicago’s architectural past while delivering the kind of elevated finishes buyers increasingly look for in Lincoln Park.

“It features iconic Chicago architecture, thanks to the turret window that really brings you back to the golden age of the city,” said Redfin’s Daniel Close, who is listing the property. “This unit is special because after my clients purchased it, they did an extensive renovation that accomplished two things: It brought the finishes to a more modern standard and undid a lot of the problematic quirks that come with a historic property like this.”

A Combination of History and Personal Design

From the moment you step inside, the home’s historic character takes center stage.

Extraordinary natural light pours through large windows across the penthouse level, including a rare turret window area that’s big enough to have a sitting area. The living room centers around a wood-burning fireplace, creating a cozy contrast to the lofty proportions of the space.

The galley-style kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, solid-surface countertops, a generous island, pantry storage and custom cabinetry.

One of the property’s standout features is its blend of private indoor comfort and accessible outdoor living.

The penthouse includes a private balcony with skyline views, while the building’s shared sundeck expands opportunities for entertaining or relaxing outside. The home also includes garage parking—a valuable amenity in one of Chicago’s most walkable neighborhoods.

The condo is near Lincoln Park’s restaurants, boutiques, parks, and public transportation.

Close said that although his clients had envisioned this property being their home for many years, their lives changed due to a job relocation.

“The sellers want people to know this is not a flip. They did all this work to create a visually stunning, comfortable place for them to live. Whoever buys it will get a home that was renovated with that in mind; it was never about making money,” he said.
