Newly opened Frisco office is home to brokerage, mortgage, title and engineering teams
Last week we celebrated the opening of our beautiful, new office in Frisco, Texas! Located in the Hall Park development, the office will serve our rapidly growing team in the region, which encompasses all parts of Redfin’s business. Our Frisco office will have engineers working alongside our agents and mortgage and title teams to bring together technology and service to make the entire home-buying and selling journey fast, easy and intuitive.
The office is the headquarters of Redfin Mortgage, which in two and a half years has gone from a daring team of five to more than 50 people on a mission to make it faster and simpler to finance a home. We don’t expect that growth to slow as Redfin Mortgage continues to expand to new markets and serve more customers.
Naturally our real estate agents and brokerage support staff are loving their new space, along with employees of RedfinNow. RedfinNow, which launched in Dallas in February, is our service to buy homes directly from homeowners, allowing them to sell with zero hassle and complete certainty.
The office is home to a new engineering team, Redfin’s first outside of Seattle and San Francisco. Longtime Redfinnian Ben “Ditto” Lasley relocated from San Francisco with his family to establish the Dallas engineering hub.
Ditto explains that “Dallas is a booming area with a lot of engineering talent. At the same time, it’s much more affordable than San Francisco or Seattle. We set out to find a growing metro with great talent and a different feel from our West Coast offices, and Dallas promises to be an excellent new home.”
The Dallas engineers will have a unique opportunity to establish this new team from the ground-up and work alongside our agents and the folks building our Redfin Mortgage and RedfinNow businesses. The connectivity between our engineers and operations has always been a special part of Redfin’s culture and a competitive advantage, allowing us to build products to revolutionize the process of buying, selling and financing a home. Frisco will be homebase for several engineering teams:
- Home Services Engineering – Building software used to renovate and prepare homes before we list them on the market.
- Redfin Mortgage Engineering – Building Redfin Mortgage tools and services to deliver an unparalleled experience for homebuyers from the mortgage application to the closing, working toward the ultimate goal of reducing closing times to 7 days.
- Tour Automation Engineering – Reinventing an essential part of the home-buying process: how customers visit homes.
