Sometimes you want access to big-city life with a small-town feel. For many in Chicagoland, suburban Elmhurst, Illinois, is the place: The town of 45,000 has retail storefronts, a town center and excellent schools. Yet it’s an easy drive or train ride from the Loop, near all the cultural offerings in the Windy City.
We are thrilled to announce that we have teamed up with Nitti Development, one of the premier builders in the northwest Chicago suburbs, to present Berteau Development in Elmhurst, on the site of the former Elmhurst hospital. Berteau features 56 single-family homes, ranging in size from 3,000 to 4,500 square feet, with expected sale prices ranging from $819,000 to over $1 million. And homes come fully loaded with Sub-Zero Refrigerators, Wolf ranges, a Nest Protect and a Nest Learning Thermostat.
Nearly 70 percent of the materials from the hospital structure will be recycled – an ecologically sound choice. Nitti will also build Elmhurst’s first permeable paver road within the development.
The Nitti family began constructing homes in the mid-1980s, when Frank Nitti built his first home. As the business grew, Frank’s sons, Joe and Nico, got involved – and now lead the firm. Joe and Nico Nitti are committed to providing a great product. “Like Redfin, we pride ourselves on exceeding our clients’ expectations,” Nico Nitti said. “The quality of our homes was a big selling point for the city of Elmhurst. They knew we were committed to doing the right thing for the community.”
Berteau Development is the first community in Chicago listed by Redfin Builder Services, which launched in Seattle last fall. Redfin agent Dave Fidanza, himself an Elmhurst resident, will be the community sales manager for the project launch.
Pre-sales for the first nine homes at Berteau start today. For more information, reach out to our sales team at berteau@redfin.com or visit the open house this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Berteau Development Sales Office on Schiller and Avon, just blocks from downtown Elmhurst.
