Redfin Rise and Giving Tuesday

by
Updated on November 29th, 2022

Redfin believes in giving back to our communities, taking part in philanthropic causes, and providing social value – all while helping to broaden the scope of who has a fair shot at homeownership. We do this through Redfin Rise, our philanthropic and community outreach program to support underserved and low-income families achieve the dream of homeownership.

This year, Redfin Rise is hosting our first ever “Giving Tuesday” campaign. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

How You Can Help

During the week of November 28-December 2, you can join the movement here at Redfin! Whether it’s making a donation to one of our nonprofit partner organizations, giving some of your time, or using the power of your voice in your local community, we can all help make a difference. Here’s what our team members will be doing and we hope you can join us:

Give Support for Redfin Rise

Our non profit partners need support now more than ever. Visit Redfin Rise to learn more and donate. Or, from Redfin.com, click on the top banner (as shown below). There, you can make a  donation directly to one of our partner organizations who are providing countless services and programs for families in need. Anyone can make a contribution!

Lead a Giving Tuesday Campaign

Unleash generosity in your country, city, or community by organizing a GivingTuesday movement of your own. Recruit family members, colleagues, friends and neighbors, reach out to a local charity, and plan a day of service. You can adopt a family, help clean up a local community, or collect items for families in need. You can also volunteer virtually! Our friends at VolunteerMatch can help you find an opportunity near you. Discover a local fundraiser, community drive or coordinated event to join others in your area or with your same interests in giving back. Our Redfin team will be participating in homebuyer fairs and educational seminars in Chicago, as well as volunteering at a local food pantry in Southern California, just to name a few.

Help Spread the Word

Post an #Unselfiea post on social media that shares a message about why you give back (download the template here). Share how you’re giving back on social media with the hashtag #GivingTuesday and inspire others.

Give Thanks

Write a letter to someone who’s helped you. Thank a teacher, delivery driver, or other essential worker. Leave a care package for a neighbor, family member, or friend. Write thank you cards, post on social media, and share your appreciation for the people and organizations helping your community.

Pay It Forward

Pay for the next person’s order at the coffee shop or drive-thru. Leave a gift card or cash at the gas pump. Tuck a grocery store gift card & a note in a shopping basket. Leave a great online review for a business you love.

We’re In This Together

Redfin does not exist in isolation. It relies on multiple interdependent relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, communities and investors. By partnering with all of our stakeholders, and inviting them all to be part of our philanthropic journey to give back, we create value that empowers individuals and communities to thrive. Everyone deserves a fair shot at owning a home. Redfin Rise is a small step in helping more families achieve that dream. And together, we can create even more opportunities for future homeowners. So join us on this journey. To learn more about our partners or to make a donation to support their work anytime of the year, visit https://www.redfin.com/rise.
