Brian is a friendly, knowledgeable realtor. We appreciate his 1.5% fee. Dealing with Redfin, there is not a lot of communication from the office or Brian while the house is on the market. Once an offer comes in, however, then the correspondence rolls! The inspection, appraisal and closing went smoothly. The money is in our bank. What more could we ask for?

Brian is the smartest and hardest working agent and broker that Redfin will ever hire.i have hired Brian to sell two estate props in Va, and have recommended him for a prop sale and purchase in Va ,which he did well. As I licensed RE AGENT in va and dc since 2009, i could have been the agent for my son's transactions or for the estate sales, but i preferred Brian. I could have been the agent for them, but Brian did them better. Brian should be teaching Redfin how to buy and sell real estate, rather than having him apply to Redfin as a mere agent. Why would Redfin still wonder about Brian's capabilities at this point?

I have been a VA real estate agent for 30 years. Brian is the best in the business. I hired him twice for my decedent estate issues (which I could not do). My son hired him twice. Brian is hard-working, attentive and knowledgeable. No one is better. Redfin should be getting training from Brian, rather than trying to give it to Brian.

Brian is very friendly and knowledgeable. However I do not feel this type of realtor is for everyone and especially not for a first time homebuyer. I feel you have to know what you are doing to use a realtor like this. You have to be willing to do some of your own homework/legwork when needed. Brian did save us a tremendous amount of money though and we are grateful.

We noticed obvious trade-offs with Brian, but were ultimately happy with the experience thanks to the money we saved. We got back 3% of the home price, which, in NOVA was well over $10K.
He has a lot of clients and didn't offer as much of his time and expertise as another realtor might. We were frustrated at times by his responsiveness. In the end, the job got done and we saved a lot. Hard to complain.

Brian Wilson's approach is revolutionary in the VA/MD/DC are I have resided in for over fifty years along with five real estate transactions, in and out. His upfront fee of $500 plus 1/2 percent commission on sale plus up to 2.5% if a buying agent participates is very attractive. His services to the seller were outstanding and appreciated. I would definitely do it again and recommend him to others.

Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Whereas Brian does offer the best deal around with his business model, you will be working a lot harder to get your house sold by using him. Many of the things that other realtors do for you, Brian leaves for you to take care of (e.g. buyer/seller negotiation, actively trying to sell your house, etc.). Additionally, he gives poor advice on things to do/not do (e.g. he told us absolutely do not be there for the home inspection and the home appraisal, which we are glad we were around for as both individuals had important questions for us that would have been unanswerable if we were not there). He never once showed our house; it was always third-party realtors.

I had moved out of the area and Brian's use of IT made things extremely simple as far as reviewing, signing, and submitting documents electronically, providing metrics on the web traffic, and generating texts when viewings were scheduled. I was hoping he would be the one selling our house when we listed with Wilson Group. They only charge 1/2 a percent .sounded like a deal.He placed the house on mls .I don't think he ever showed it one time in the 9 plus months it was on the market.The house was worth around 350,00 .It could be possible that Brian personally prefers to sell the "High Dollar houses.That's just a guess on my part.Slow communication as well..In the end a non related agent sold the house for us and Brian filled us in on details/negociations etc. with many emails and calls ....I would not recommend Wilson group unless you might be selling a million dollar plus piece of real estate.This way he makes the money he needs at his half percent rates.I believe he is honest ,but he didn't sell our house like we were...
