We are an older couple who has purchased several homes in the small town in which we lived. We had one agent that did pretty much everything in the process of buying property. Working with James and Redfin was different and it took us a bit to get used to the process of not having him available to show homes every time we wanted to look. We went to see homes with agents that work with the primary agent like James. We prefer to talk about the pros and cons of each home and what the agent may see that we don't. After a few times we had a better idea of what to expect and communicated our needs with James. He was as helpful as an agent could be. James is out of his league in Reno. We made one offer with James, and it was instantly rejected and we lost a house. We weren't even in the running for negotiations. We fired Redfin and James. Five days later, we BEAT OUT 14 OTHER OFFERS, with our next agent. We just closed and are moving in as we speak. We hired James because we sold our California Home with Redfin, and figured we should buy with Redfin in Reno. They assigned us James. We met him for the first time in our first showing. We wanted the house. He was so confident in his one strategy of an escalation offer, that we went with his advice. What a joke. He submitted the offer, without communicating with selling agent and finding out what was the seller's motivation or how much interest was in the house. He submitted blindly.... Show More
