After a 45-year career in aviation, my wife and I retired to New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Our family has been vacationing here for years and we finally decided to make it our home. Walking the beach each morning as the sun rises is an inspiring way to begin each day. One of my passions has always been real estate. The many decades of buying and selling property has helped fuel my desire to assist customers in navigating the home buying journey. "First impressions are lasting" As snowbirds from Maryland, this winter Mark showed us some properties we thought we'd be interested in. We did not buy any of those. However, from our first meeting, we could tell that going forward, Mark would be our agent. He is trustworthy, knowledgeable, sincere and is not pushy. This spring we found some properties online in Deland, FL. We were back in Maryland so Mark went to those properties and sent us a video tour. After seeing those virtual tours we decided to make a "quick" drive to Deland for a personal tour. Since Mark was not available for the tours, his teammate in Deland, William Lafaurie, ably showed the properties. That afternoon I headed back home to Maryland, excited about the property we ultimately purchased. Mark led us through the entire procedure, from writing the initial offer to buy through settlement last month. Obviously, there were many steps: negotiating final contract, arranging inspection, finding homeowners insurance, directions for all money transfers, final walk through, just name a few. Mark was there for us every step of the way. 30+ years ago I too was a realtor so I understand what a good agent does, not to mention having bought and sold our private properties using other agents (all were excellent). No agent (myself included) did a better job than Mark Lopez. He has earned our highest recommendation for anyone in the market for a residential property.
