Mary was very friendly and helpful. However in retrospect I feel she was not motivated to get me my best price and instead wanted to move the property as fast as possible. At every turn, from setting the initial price, to accepting every low-ball offer that was made, she pushed me to sell. She never once pushed for me to hold out, or to increase my price. I expect that I could have gotten a higher price if it weren't for her pressure to come down. I assume that this is some metric within Redfin for their realtors.

Mary is a very nice person, but I didn't feel like my unit was being prioritized. I think with multiple listings in the Capitol Hill area, she couldn't go beyond the basic attention, and I believe that's what made my unit slip off viewers' eyes. I ended up de-listing my unit after 6 months on the market. If your property is a a single family home or a really cheap 2-bed, 2-bath condo, then that'll sell for itself. But if you need someone to put in the work to sell a unit that may be less desirable (like a 1-bed, 1-bath unit), then I recommend not using Redfin.

I'd describe Mary as an elegant bulldog -- she just never gives up. Our condo was on and off the market due to Covid, and two different contracts fell through, but her commitment never wavered. She responded promptly to every call/text/email over many months. We always felt that she heard us and considered our POV while offering her own expertise. She has excellent marketing instincts, she's a natural negotiator, and she has an amazing Rolodex -- plumbers, painters, decorators, and more who seemingly drop everything to help her out. We appreciated Mary's professional and straight-to-the-point, no-nonsense approach. She has a ton of experience in the DC market and is also knowledgeable about the home-sale process, and her advice and guidance was valuable to us as first-time home sellers. That said, things did get off to a rocky start — the contractor Mary recommended we use for painting and minor repairs all but ghosted us a few days before work was supposed to begin, and we had to scramble to find someone else ourselves, and this also led to some confusion on Mary's part about when our home would actually be ready to go on the market. Once things kicked into gear, however, it was smooth sailing through closing, and we feel very lucky to have had Mary and her team in our corner.

We could not recommend Mary more highly in the sale of our condo. We initially put our condo on the market a few years ago, then took it off (fairly quickly) when we found tenants. A couple years later we reached back out to Mary again. She gave us very sound advice on selling. I needed to maximize the amount of cash I got on my sale and wanted to use Redfin but decided to go with an agent licensed in DC at my friend’s full-price company. Huge mistake.
