This nearly 10-acre retreat on the easternmost tip of Leon County is rich with history and in close proximity to Lake Miccosukee (upon digging the property's 1st deep well, a large, fully-intact arrowhead was immediately unearthed). Getting home to Sunray Rd. is a 30-min. drive from downtown Tallahassee - just the right amount of highway time to wind down at the end of a work day. The value of the property is enhanced by dramatic sunsets in the evening - which can be observed over an evening meal on the front screened porch - and millions of vivid stars at night around the bonfire (a feature of many a hayride over the years). Families of deer can often be observed from the ample double-paned windows that bring the outside in to this well-built/well-insulated home. The open floorplan connects the kitchen and greatroom under a dramatic vaulted ceiling that delivers a feeling of space. A transom window dressed in Spanish tile provides optimal natural light while French doors opening up to a screened porch off the kitchen expand the living area to incorporate the outside. The fresh scent of the woods can be enjoyed with a morning cup of coffee from the back screened porch where the sun rises each morning behind the green tree line. The current owners originally moved to the acreage in 1988, where the child that was born on the property later worked with her mother to design a home in 2004 they could share with family, friends, and a couple generations of dogs that roamed it happily over the years. 12 years later it's time for this to be YOUR dream retreat!
