Rural Conservation District
Coweta County has adopted a comprehensive land use plan and a future development map to guide land use and development throughout the county. Primary concerns of citizens are the provision of efficient and effective government services and public facilities, and the protection of Coweta's natural land and water resources, and preservation of rural character which together foster a unique sense of place valued by the community. Rural residential land uses include rural homestead lots, and low density rural residential developments designed to preserve woodland and open land along Coweta's roadways, to preserve primary conservation land: river or stream corridor, areas of vulnerable groundwater recharge, floodplain, steep slopes, habitat of endangered species, archeological sites, cemeteries, and burial grounds, and to provide neighborhoods with their own private, yet common, recreation areas.
