Pauwela Ahupua`a, located between Haiku and Paia, is a rural and coastal Haiku-Pauwela neighborhood with a wind-swept shoreline and a patchwork of pastureland. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the Hana Highway corridor near the Haiku Marketplace, where a low-key cluster of local storefronts and food counters sets the daily rhythm. Architecture leans plantation-era cottages, modest single-level homes, and tucked-away farm lots framed by palms and ironwood. Baldwin Beach Park and the Pauwela shoreline bring open horizons and steady trade winds. Haiku Marketplace, Colleen’s at the Cannery, and Maui Kombucha anchor the area’s small-business culture.
