THIS IS A TREE HOUSE!!! When two creative minds meet something spectacular is going to happen...and now the rest of the story. Built by Johnny Knight, somewhat eccentric and talented artist, in 1971. Johnny hand picked a location of a secluded forest hilltop that only adds to the feel of a faraway land of endless peace and tranquility among the Southern Magnolias, Maples, White Oak all native to this area. Johnny began his project by setting massive cypress stumps as the bases for the octagonal-shaped house. Next, he crafted a spider leg-like support system that baffled even the most seasoned builders. His spiral split log staircase is covered by a sweeping circular roof and is nothing short of magical. When Johnny died his family placed the property for sale. The present owner saw it and knew it was something worth preserving and her love for the Tree House grew. She called John Harris' of Fenwick, Scotland author of a book on Tree Houses. John was here for a week working with her to make it structurally sound and offering ideas. That done she sought one of the best craftsman and talented artist to take it from that point. From the magnificently executed tongue and groove ceiling and stacked stone fireplace, to thick, heavy handcrafted doors and beautiful redwood slab and bark (at least 3"thick) bar and vanity counter tops, needless to say she was delighted with work. Among the magical branches a stained glass piece created by Jerry Hymel of "our Glass Studio", "Haley's Comet. "We do have two fairies that have already moved into the tree house and if you look closely you will notice two fairy doors. There are two creeks that touch this property and there is a zip line also. It is a joy for me to market this property that is in a class by itself.
