Set back from the road, this classically styled 1931 home is updated for today's discerning homeowner, yet retains the charm of yesteryear with a black and white checkerboard patterned floor in the foyer, random-width wood floors, carved balustrade, floor-to-ceiling bookcases, original casement windows, antique carved mantelpiece and spacious rooms. On the first floor, a large living room opens to a dining room, where a wall of sliding doors leads to a covered flagstone patio. A family room serves also as a home office, and a wet bar is cleverly fit into a short hall leading to a powder room. In the kitchen, deep marble counters and center island provide ample space for food prep; a laundry room (complete with chute!) is nearby. Upstairs, four bedrooms occupy the corners of the home; all have cedar-lined closets, and the master, has a spacious windowed walk-in/dressing room and en suite bath. The unfinished attic can easily be transformed into extra living space. Situated on 2 acres of expansive lawns, with mature and recent landscaping and room for pool or tennis court. Beautifully maintained and updated. Located in Lawrence Township, but with a Princeton address, enjoy easy access to trains, highways, and downtown Princeton. Some highlights: 2011: 1/2 New Slate roof, floors refinished, fully painted inside, electrical updates, new fridge. 2012: New subpanel makes house necessities generator ready. 2013: New well and sump pumps, fence replaced and 12 trees added. 2014: Converted furnace to natural gas and new gas hot water heater. EP-1
Environmental Protection 1 District
The Environmental Protection 1 district is designed for low intensity uses primarily in the northwest area of the municipality where poor water yields and strata for septic systems dictate large lot development in an area of little or no public infrastructure and severe environmental constraints, including but not limited to, a seasonal high water table, shallow depth to bedrock, and steep slopes along the Stony Brook. Further, the purpose of the EP-1 district is to protect the environmental resources and qualities of this area, maintain the rural character of roads and scenic views, and retain farmland. The EP-1 designation is contrasted with the EP-2 district by being underlain with the Lockatong-Argillite geologic formation as depicted in the adopted Master Plan. Both the EP-1 and EP-2 districts, though poorly suited for development, are exceptional areas for non-irrigated agriculture. Because of this last factor, clustering of residential units is preferred whether under the provisions of this section or 428.
