Casey Kasem, former host of the radio show American Top 40, just listed his Los Angeles home for $42 million! The estate spans 12,000 square feet and has seven bedrooms and 11.5 baths. Kasem purchased the home in 1989 for $1,725,000. It includes a library, bar, two master suites with hair salon and dressing areas, and a service wing with laundry facilities. The interior is adorned with European-style art and antique furniture. Outside, there’s a heart-shaped pool, tennis court and guest house.
Kasem was one of the founders of the American Top 40 franchise, and hosted it from 1970 to 2004, with a break between 1989 and 1998, when he was the host of Casey’s Top 40, Casey’s Hot 20, and Casey’s Countdown. On the week of July 4, 2009, after 39 years on air, Casey Kasem ended his run on the radio. In mid-2010, Kasem, although officially retired from acting, began voicing the character of Colton Rogers, Shaggy’s father on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
