It’s Not a Houseboat, It’s a “Floating Home”

It’s not often that you see Redfin users get excited about a house with no lot to speak of and water in the basement. However, yesterday’s most clicked property on Redfin is certainly the exception to that rule. This floating home on the North side of Lake Union may have no lot to speak of, but it’s just a stones throw from Gasworks Park and you can kayak off the back porch, which seems like a decent trade given that the grass mowing season is now in full swing.

This floating home is listed at $299,950, was built in 1984, has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, some nice skylights, and the agent notes it was recently painted. It seems most notable though for its proximity to the Burke Gillman, Gasworks, and July 4th Fireworks. Also of interest is how few of these come on the market. I set the surrounding map to show past sales in the area and could find just one floating home nearby that had been sold in the last 3 years.
