Many believe gold for USA basketball is a foregone conclusion, despite some sloppy play in the group stage. Certainly, after beating Argentina easily in the quarterfinals, Team USA’s star-studded roster goes into this weekend with confidence.
Besides incredible basketball skills, the team also has a nice collection of real estate to its name. To keep things interesting, we thought we’d put the homes of Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan under the microscope.

Jimmy Butler, Chicago Bulls
Type: House
Located: Chicago, IL (River North)
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 5.5
Size: 10,000 square feet
Purchased: September 15, 2015 for $4.3M
Three outdoor spaces, four stories, its own elevator, an incredible TV room and a wine cellar, all in Chicago’s hopping River North neighborhood. It’s hard to go wrong with Jimmy Butler’s home, especially when he’s making improvements like a 6,000 pound boom-box aquarium. You have plenty of space to relax, but access to the City of Big Shoulders out your front door.
DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors
Type: House
Located: Tarzana, CA (Greater LA)
Bedrooms: 7
Bathrooms: 8
Size: 6,609 square feet
Purchased: August 20, 2014 for $3.752M
While DeMar DeRozan plays in Toronto, he makes his home in SoCal, where he grew up. Because suburban LA’s a bit more sprawling than downtown Chicago, DeRozan has an actual yard, an outdoor basketball court and a swimming pool. The home itself has an enormous kitchen and a master bathroom nearly as large as Taj Mahal, plus a whopping seven bedrooms. If you’re looking for the opulence of SoCal living, you can find it here.
