This is called Dictionary Hill. Some say that long ago lots were sold and each buyer was given a dictionary as a bonus. Others say that buyers of an encyclopedia set were given a free lot on this remote and difficult hill (many buyers didn’t see the hill before purchase). Times have changed and the hill is easier to navigate and not remote at all. It’s a very steep hill which is a nuisance or a blessing depending on your viewpoint … and view it has. High above the Sweetwater Reservoir, these homes are near light industry (and jobs), shopping, the swap meet, and they are a comfortable distance from big city nuisances. Many are recently sold, yet far more are available; lets look at a few:

Even the large newer homes listed here are reasonably priced. Notice how the price per square foot improves with the larger units compared to the smaller, older ones.
