About Dottie

I was born in Brownsville, Texas. Our family moved to Florida, where I lived for 35 years. I opened up a paging and cellular company for 10 years, with 4 stores and 10 employees. Most of my career was in retail sales and service and really enjoyed meeting people. In 1996, my husband and I thought about finding a piece of land on top of a mountain, to build and retire to one day. We decided on the western part of NC, only 7 hours from our home. We found a new mountain cabin, with a spectacular view, ran down to the bank, shook hands, purchased the property and went back home to Fl. We decided to rent the cabin out for short term vacationers. The cabin stayed booked every week for 5 years, which helped pay for our getaway. The more we came up to mountains, the more we wanted to move here! In 2001, we made the move fulltime and got our real estate license. I opened up our own company, which we had for 20 years. I also handled 50 rentals in the area and helped others find a way to afford a second home. As my business grew, the pandemic happened, so I decided to hang my license with BIG Realty!, where I have worked for the past 4 years. I have a nice group of realtors who are like minded and are there to help when needed. Murphy NC is a young growing area, with lots of US forest land, clean lakes, fresh air and lots of outdoor activities. The highways are well kept, the people are friendly and the fishing is good. What more could you ask for?! The area is very diverse. Whether you are looking for a farm, a vacation rental on top of a mountain, a hideaway cabin in the woods,a place on a river or lake or land to build your dream home, I will find it for you.
