We chose to work with a Redfin realtor based on a recommendation and promotion through Rocket Mortgage. Initially, we were assigned a different agent who happened to be out of the country for three weeks, which made the start of our home search quite frustrating. After some difficulty trying to make that arrangement work, our assigned realtor was switched to John. John was incredibly kind, down-to-earth, and accommodating. We genuinely enjoyed working with him and shared plenty of laughs along the way — even when we got lost a few times or dealt with an unexpected encounter with fleas in one of the homes we toured. Unfortunately, the Redfin process itself took away from the overall experience. Rather than being able to work with one dedicated realtor throughout the entire home-buying journey, we were often shown homes by other associate agents based on their schedules and regional coverage. As a result, John wasn’t always present to see our reactions to properties or to suggest listings that might have better matched our preferences. The only recommendations we received came from Redfin’s automated emails, which felt impersonal and overwhelming at times. This setup also made it challenging when it came time to make offers, as John couldn’t provide meaningful advice on homes he hadn’t seen — in fact, he didn’t set foot in the home we purchased until our inspection. As first-time homebuyers, we had hoped for a more personalized experience and more hands-on guidance throughout the process. While John Marascia himself was wonderful to work with and made the experience enjoyable where he could, we feel that Redfin’s procedures limit their agents’ ability to truly serve their clients. For that reason, we are unlikely to work with Redfin again in the future.

John worked feverishly to get my house sold. He never gave up even when I had my doubts that it wasn't going to close in time for me to move. Great job to all the Refin associates.
