Tucked away on a quiet country road, this 0.83-acre Haiku property captures what makes this part of Maui so special: privacy, abundant greenery and a peaceful setting. Mature citrus and banana paired with lush tropical surroundings create a sense of separation from the outside world, with green views framed through the cottage windows and a covered porch that invites you to slow down and enjoy the setting. The existing cottage has been recently renovated and freshly painted, offering a comfortable, move-in-ready home from day one. Live simply and enjoy it just as it is or settle into the cottage while exploring plans for a future main residence. Served by catchment water, this is an opportunity where the land, privacy and quiet are every bit as compelling as the cottage itself. A refreshingly simple slice of Haiku, ready for its next chapter.

Ulumalu, located between Haiku Road and Hana Highway, is a rural and residential Haiku-Pauwela neighborhood with eucalyptus-lined lanes and wide-open pasture views. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the Haiku Road/Hana Highway junction, where a small-town cluster of coffee counters, plate-lunch windows, and surf-and-farm supply stops sets the daily rhythm. Community pillars include Colleen’s at the Cannery, Haiku Marketplace, and the Haiku Community Center. Homes lean toward plantation-era cottages and low-slung island ranch houses tucked behind hedges and fruit trees. Trade winds and frequent showers keep the landscape green, with gulches and garden lots shaping a quiet, outdoors-forward routine.
