LONDON PURCHASE FARM. C. 1735 is thought by many to be the most important farm in Bucks County, not only for its historical relevance, as it was the Headquarters during the American Revolutionary War for General Henry Knox and Captain Alexander Hamilton, but it has been restored to a level of perfection rarely seen. This outstanding property is located in the heart of the Jericho Valley in beautiful Upper Makefield Township on 24 acres. For the past 17 years London Purchase Farm has been under the stewardship of a family whose remarkable knowledge of the home and land have created indeed a masterpiece. The main residence has been expanded and renovated to encompass over 8000 sq. ft. of living space, with every addition designed and overseen by the historic architect, John Milner. The most recent addition by master craftsmen Jarret-Vaughn Builders includes a conservatory with windowed surround and plaster coffered ceiling, and new main bedroom suite, complete with a sitting room, dressing room/closet and marble bath. The original keeping room, dating to 1735, has the original walk-in stone fireplace, a cage bar, and wine closet and a large The spacious home, with 5+ bedrooms and 5.1 baths, is finished on 3 levels, and boasts many original features, heavy millwork, gracious room dimensions, tall ceiling height, 3 staircases, and 8 fireplaces, and a screened porch. In addition, a fabulous completely renovated guest house offers two en-suite guest bedrooms with exposed stone walls, a great room and open kitchen with top grade appliances, and laundry – it is totally self-contained. The stone and frame bank barn has also been renovated, and is equipped with 8 stalls for horses, tack room, feed room, and a finished large party room with heat and air conditioning. Attached to the barn is a 3-bay Meetinghouse Shed style garage with brick flooring, two large stainless prep sinks and a parking court with vintage stone wall surround. A large, stocked pond, meandering stream with two bridges, pool, potting shed, greenhouse, 4 large paddocks for horses and farm animals with run-in sheds, box gardens, vegetable gardens, Koi Pond, terraces e, xquisite shade trees and landscaping, and glorious views, are just some of the additional features.
