This gorgeous art-filled Austin home comes by way of Homepolish. This brilliant NYC-bred startup is taking the interior design world by storm, and we just can’t get enough of their beautiful renovations and savvy design solutions.
Maureen Stevens, a Homepolish designer, is the proud homeowner and designer of this lovely abode. About the redesign, Maureen says, “Editing is so key. There are so many beautiful things out there, it’s easy to get lost trying to figure out what to do. I did a lot of planning and I shopped knowing exactly what I was looking for.We love the mood that every room evokes in Maureen’s home.
Some areas are moody and rustic and some are bright and airy but the entire house exists on a cohesive thread of comfortable classics that mirror Maureen’s fun and considered taste.
Ensuring that the home felt personal and special were keys to the redesign. “Framed postcards, restaurant coasters from memorable travels, favor bags from our baby shower… I love getting client’s (and my own) most personal items displayed beautifully in different ways,” says Maureen.
Maureen changed everything! “To say it was a disaster is an understatement,” she says. “It had horribly painted walls and furniture pushed back against the walls (cringe! With designers, this is such a big no-no). I guess it looked like an avant-garde space gone wrong.” Well, we’re glad you were there to save the day, then!
“With so much inspiration and style eye candy out there, it’s easy to get caught up in having a space that looks good but isn’t functional for the way you live. Designers really do have the knack for that, merging form and function seamlessly in a gorgeous way.”
The Redfin Agent Insight
“This home is a great blend of chic southern comfort and artsy charm, qualities both reflective of a city like Austin”, says Redfin agent Cyndy Stewart. “Maureen picked bright, neutral tones for the walls, which is something I am seeing in a lot of homes in the area these days. Not only is this redesign a great investment for Maureen and her family in the here-and-now, but if and when they plan to move to another home , this gorgeous remodel is sure to appeal to homebuyers in Austin and will likely boost the home’s resale value.”
