Seattle homebuyers know that finding any home, not to mention the right home, can be a challenge in a market where inventory is down 41 percent year over year and home prices are rising at the same time. Good news for buyers, Seattle just got some much-needed housing inventory in a very desirable neighborhood.

The Greenbelt Station Townhomes are located one block from the Rainier Beach Link Light Rail station and minutes from Columbia City, an urban village where you’ll find grocery options like PCC, restaurants like Tutta Bella and nightlife at Columbia City Theater. With planned Link extensions to Capitol Hill and the University of Washington opening in 2016, and extensions to Northgate and Bellevue scheduled to open in 2021 and 2023, residents will have easy access to key Seattle and Eastside destinations. Residents are also in close proximity to Lake Washington in Seward Park, where you’ll find hiking trails and mountain views.

“Buyers across Seattle are looking for affordability and easy access to transportation and amenities, and these new homes definitely help meet that demand,” said Redfin agent Ryan Olson. “The third bedroom is something I know people moving from smaller spaces will appreciate.”

The median sale price for a townhome in Seattle last year was $489,950 and more than half of all townhomes sold over asking price. In the entire city, only 1,500 townhomes were sold in all of 2015just 13 percent of all homes soldand all townhomes were on the market for a median of just seven days.

Priced from the high $300,000s, the new construction townhomes released in phase one range in size from 1,296 to 1,493 square feet, including a garage.

Othello Partners, a local developer with a proven track record bringing new housing options to South Seattle, is excited to meet local demand and bring these townhomes to market.

“Since we developed the Station at Othello Park apartments, we’ve been increasingly aware of the need for new homeownership opportunities in Seattle, and acknowledge the value of being adjacent to light rail,” said Steve Rauf, president of Othello Partners. “We think buyers will be excited about the accessible price point, without having to compromise on high-quality features throughout the homes, such as the quartz countertops and soft-close drawers.”

The Greenbelt Station Townhomes offer two and three bedrooms and 1.5 to 2.5 baths. Occupancy starts early 2016.
