As you may have noticed, we’ve been doing some remodeling on the Redfin blog. Our new look comes with a new name: Redfin Real-Time. At Redfin Real-Time, you’ll find everything you need to know about buying, selling and owning a home. We’ll continue to publish the latest housing market research you’ve come to expect from our team of economists and data analysts, as well as coverage of drool-worthy homes that have hit the market and celebrity news that everyone will be talking about. But we also have a few new features we’re excited to introduce.

Redfin is a real estate brokerage, which means we have direct access to data from the multiple listing services (MLSs) in the areas where Redfin has agents, as well as information on the change in the number of Redfin clients requesting home tours and making offers, which no one else has. Today we’re giving that access to you.

With the launch of the Redfin Data Center, you can now visualize and download our real estate market data, which includes home prices, home sales and how many homes have hit the market. You can also find our Home Tour and Offer Indices, which provide insight into the current demand for housing, an early indicator of housing market performance that you can’t find anywhere else. This is the same data that Redfin uses in the Redfin Real-Time Housing Demand Index, which is published each month.

The Redfin Data Center gives you the ability to compare your real estate market to the nation or to other cities. You can create interactive dashboards and share them as a Tableau dashboard, image or PDF. You can also download the data or visualizations in a variety of formats. The information will be updated on a monthly basis, as soon as we have the latest numbers.

We hope this data will help you make more informed decisions about when to buy or sell, and when you’re ready, we’d be happy to put you in touch with a local Redfin real estate agent, who can guide you through the process. For more information on how to use the Redfin Data Center, check out the following video:

In addition to launching the Redfin Data Center, we are expanding our coverage to include more hyper-local stories with insights from our real estate agents. Whether it’s advice on how to buy a home in a specific area or a real estate trend that’s unique to one city, we have passionate real estate professionals ready to share their experience from the field. You can find these stories on our new Local News & Insights section.

We hope you enjoy the new site and we look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to reach out to blog@redfin.com with questions, suggestions and feedback. You can also subscribe to Redfin Real-Time to receive a weekly roundup of articles in your inbox; just enter in your email in the subscribe box on our homepage.
