For two star athletes about to go head-to-head in the biggest football game of the year, Peyton Manning and Cam Newton seem to be quite amicable. According to ESPN, Manning, the Denver Broncos quarterback, was quoted saying that the Carolina Panthers quarterback would be the face of the NFL at some point in the future. In response Newton said, “Anything the Sheriff says, you can probably ink it in gold,” referring to Manning with his nickname. We love the mutual respect these two guys have maintained for each other, despite their obvious differences. One is a seasoned, beloved-by-many, NFL champ, and the other is a young, charismatic newcomer with loads of potential.
Fans can’t seem to get enough of these two, comparing everything from their career stats to their fashion choices. We thought, for fun, we’d throw one more into the mix – their homes.
So, let’s see which athlete abode gets more points on the scoreboard.
Located: Englewood, CO
Size: 11,302 square feet
Purchased: 2012 for $4.575 million
Manning’s home is situated in the ritzy area of Cherry Hills Village, a suburb of Denver, CO. The star quarterback’s home is a gorgeous two-story Georgian-style estate with an impressive list of amenities, including an elevator, billiard room with a full bar, a huge wooden wine cellar and a seven-car garage. The beautiful kitchen has an enormous island in the center, perfect for anyone who likes to be a star at the stove. We are really impressed by the walk-in closet, which looks more like a separate bedroom.
Located: Charlotte, NC
Size: 3,285 square feet
Purchased: 2012 for $1.6 million
Newton’s abode is a condo, quite a difference from Manning’s sprawling property. While the Panthers’ QB’s home is certainly a smaller player compared to Manning’s expansive estate, it totally has some score-worthy features. This star athlete lives in a high-security building with only seven residential units, making this apartment an exclusive piece of real estate located in Charlotte, NC. But this apartment isn’t your typical luxury city dwelling; it has gorgeous hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, chic industrial-styled ceilings with concrete beams and exposed aluminum tubing AND an enormous closet that could be considered another bedroom.
The building comes with a list of impressive amenities, including a membership to the Charlotte Athletic Club (although Newton probably doesn’t use this facility very often, since he trains with his team) and access to a gorgeous rooftop pool boasting views of the surrounding area.
We absolutely love both of these homes, but which one should take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy of real estate? Peyton Manning’s home, a traditional Georgian-style estate, is no doubt a touchdown, but we really dig the chic and modern look we see in Newton’s home, which is why we’re naming it the favorite in this NFL real estate showdown.
